Organised by the State Tourism Agency, Stephanie Kim, International Director of "La Liste" -a global gastronomy ranking and classification platform has paid a visit to Azerbaijan.
The primary aim of the visit was to promote Azerbaijan’s rich culinary traditions, local products and modern restaurant industry on the international stage, as well as to highlight the country’s gastronomic potential through a prestigious platform such as "La Liste".
As part of the programme, Stephanie Kim visited renowned hotels, restaurants and gastronomic venues in Baku, gaining first-hand insight into their concepts and culinary approaches. She was introduced to a diverse range of dishes, encompassing both traditional Azerbaijani cuisine and contemporary international culinary trends.
During the visit, Stephanie Kim held official meetings at the State Tourism Agency and engaged in discussions with representatives of the culinary sector, including chefs, gastronomy experts and other industry stakeholders.
In addition to Baku, the programme included visits to the regions, where she explored local gastronomic traditions, regional products and tourism opportunities.
Founded in 2015, "La Liste" is an international gastronomy ranking platform based on data compiled from numerous culinary guides and online sources. Drawing on more than 700 international guides, various websites and media reviews, the platform presents a unified ranking of the world’s best restaurants, hotels and pastry shops.
Currently covering nearly 40,000 gastronomic establishments across 200 countries, the platform aggregates insights from thousands of publications, over 1,100 professional sources and millions of online reviews, offering users access to high-quality culinary experiences worldwide.
Cooperation with "La Liste" creates new opportunities for restaurants and hotels to gain international recognition and enhances their competitiveness in the global market.
It should be noted that strengthening Azerbaijan’s position on the global gastronomy map, promoting local restaurants and chefs internationally, and advancing the country’s potential in gastronomy tourism remain among the key priorities of the State Tourism Agency.
